What happened to me today?

    What happened to me today?

    I have been off training for a couple months, diet almost remained the same except for a few pizza slices on the go during that period..

    It's my third day back to the gym, already dropped 4 pounds and feeling great overall and happy with my "come back"

    Today, I woke up, had 6 whole boiled eggs, a cup of coffee, had my VPX Meltdown taken care of (1 pill with food, 3 pills an hour later at the gym)..

    Warmed up on the treadmill, 7 minutes (till body temperature changes, start sweating).. Started training, starting with 20% less than max to warm up, bicep db curls, shoulder db raises, empty bar shoulder raises.....................

    Within about 45 minutes of entering the gym I just felt drained, no energy, no drive, I wanted to do more but there was just no mental connection going on.. My muscles were only warmed up (compared to my usual workouts, where I finish my sets viciously one after another, then push myself even more on the treadmill)..

    This is one thing I want to avoid, wanting to train, but feeling like shit shortly after starting to exercise..

    Some info:
    Age: 25
    Height: never knew, say 5-11'
    Weight: 3 days ago: 210lb.. today 206lb

    Yesterday's stats: from fitday
    fat:78.5
    carbs: 113.6
    prot: 264.6
    tot:2,276

    Yesterday was a rest day, went for a 5 mile jog/walk at night..

    What am I missing here?

    What have your diet and training been like these first days? If you've been low-carbing, my money is on you running out of glycogen and not being used to ketosis.

    Almost the same everyday.. Added tuna in between meals on a couple days and kept hydration in check, water, tea, coffee..

    Breakfast:
    Egg, whole, boiled 3
    Bread, wheat bran 2

    Lunch:
    Chicken, leg (drumstick and thigh) 1

    Very light activity/tretching/swimming/Meditation(hot room): 30 mins

    More food: Chicken, breast, roasted, broiled, or baked 2

    Dinner:
    Protein supplement, powdered30 grams + peach/stawberry

    Before bed: Green tea, unsweetened 1

    Training has been mostly total body with light weights, cardio, crunches, nothing major really..

    The thing is, I have been only training lightly, and 45 minutes of light training/long rest between sets.. then there was plainly no drive what so ever.. ! heh

    What calories have you been running, and why the high volume training every day on low calories? Why cardio every day, and what kind of cardio? For your size, your calories are low-ish; perfectly appropriate for weight loss and your protein and fat intake are good. My money is on you simply being worn out. You DO need days off from the gym, right? You know that, right?

    You're working out too much and your glycogen is low, plus you're not eating any of the best substances you could eat. Veggies. Kill the bread and replace that carb with some veggies with some starch in them if you're really trying to go low carb.

    You lost 4 pounds in 3 days? That doesn't sound healthy.

    Like Built said, you shouldn't go to the gym everyday. You need off days. Also keep in mind that you do need to re-feed every once in awhile.

    Now this is an interesting thing to say. Why do you think it's not healthy? The transition from high carbs and no exercise, to lower carbs and lots of exercise means glycogen will be used up and not replaced. Glycogen is bound up with a LOT of water - hence the drop.

    Nothing wrong with losing four pounds in three days under these circumstances. In fact, it's both expected, and normal.

    One of us read this wrong. I'm thinking it was me....I thought he said his diet stayed the same but he started working out again?

    I understand losing four pounds in three days is fine, if you do go from high carb/no exercise to low carb/exercise. That's exactly what I did. I started working out and dieting (low carb). Lost a lot of weight fast and then it steadied as my body got used to dieting and exercise. Then after I stopped drinking I lost weight at an accelerated rate again then steadily dropped after my body got used to not taking in all the extra shit that alcohol has.

    Dehydration perhaps? Or maybe hypoglycemia. Hypoglycemia because after your break your body may be used to a certain blood sugar level and your workouts are disrupting that new "normal" and you may not be used to the sudden change. Just a guess.

    Nah, we both read it right, he just wasn't all that clear. He said it didn't change much, but that he had ditched the pizza. My money is on glycogen depletion. Happens with this type of training and the low-ish carbs he's been running.

    i would comment but iam not qualified yet but iam learning alot about dieting now from my trainer and you have to remember i taught the diet king everything she nos right built? jk you are great at helping people on there diets. i had to hand it off to somebody sooner or later lmao.
