I would imagine it depends on the person's conditioning and the intensity/duration of the cardio sessions.

Unless you mean walking or a casual bike ride, yes. Just rest, eat, and take it easy.
Wondering where to start? Confused? "Homework 1" will get you started.

Think you're ready for the "next step"? Take this test.

I decided to give myself an even greater challenge on top of my current volume program.

If you remember, I used to be a distance runner. I still do low-volume running and cycling for my cardio, and also a 10k race every April. I did very well both years that I've been BB'ing -- this year especially (being 50lbs heavier than I was as a runner). So, I registered for the Victoria Half Marathon on October 10. It'll be my first in 2 years. The last one I did was on the day I decided to give up running and take up BB'ing, actually.

My goal is to train low-volume/high-intensity, so that I can easily replace lost calories while continuing on my bulk diet and volume program. Basically, the quality of the running will be very high. And, with my monthly deloads, that leaves me with something like 7-8 weeks to train for it, so generalizing at 4 days a week that's only 28-32 training sessions.

It's gonna be interesting. It's kind of an experiment. I hardly trained for this year's 10k compared to my old running days, and I'm loaded with muscle now AND was bodybuilding the entire time. It just showed me what thorough research and power diet can do....and, giving hell in every training session! I love to feel that pain in the legs.

lol, I know. I'm just so eager to get back at it!

On the other hand, I love seeing the muscles fill out during deloading phases.

How often do you deload, Built?

It varies. Lately I've traveled on business a fair bit, so I've used these breaks as deloads.

Have you ever been at the downtown YMCA in Victoria? For a while there was this woman coming in who kind of looked like you (based on the like one or two pics I've seen, lol) and I kept thinking I should just go by and utter, "Built?"
