    Going back into the mix

So some of you may remember I posted about my knee getting messed up with a torn medial meniscus. I have decided this is enough, I am 190lbs with about 20% body fat and all my gains have gone down the drain from taking over a year off weight lifting.

My knee is still messed up but I learned some exercises in physical therapy (which I was going to for a while) and I plan to leave the physical therapy and incorporate those exercises in the real gym for my leg work outs. I mean I was getting charged a lot for simple exercises and ice packs at the end anyways. I will say, I do plan to take it much much slower this time around.

I have most of my supplement stack ready; whey protein, fish oil, glucosamine supplement with chondroitin and msm so I guess all I am missing is a good multi.

Okay so I explained my situation and now I ask of you all to please give me tips, and/or advice on some questions. So my questions are these; is what I will be doing something dangerous or have any implications which I should be aware of? Also, (and according to my current situation) Would you recommend any other supplements others than the ones I mentioned?

I am just getting back in the game after I totally tore my ACL in half. I have been doing NO leg work for 3 months. My PT is now light leg presses and leg curls. I am alot better now with no pain. Just take it slow and easy. You can still do damage to the knee even further. No twisting exercises!!

Did you have any work done on your knee or did you just get it diagnosed? Did you finish PT/rehab of the knee or are you just bored with it?

It's probably something you want to ask a doctor about. The big issue with coming back from injuries always seems to be mobility. Scar tissue builds up in the injured areas and hampers mobility, which can really throw off certain lifts, stalling progress, and increasing the chance of further injury.

Your supps look fine. Make sure your diet is right too. But as far as training advice, it's hard to give you advice without being able to see how you're moving around after your injury. I would hate to give you specific advice that leads to injury.

What kind of training are you planning for?

Well currently I am awaiting an appointment for the doctor to let me know if I will indeed need surgery (which I probably do). My left knee had a thinned ACL and my right a torn medial meniscus. I can walk and everything but it starts to get painful when I walk too much or constantly pop my knees.

I left the PT because it seemed I was doing exercises I could do myself. The lady there gave me a therapy band so I can use that as it was the only thing I did not have myself that I used there.

I don't plan on doing any dbb lunges, squats, deadlifts or anything that I know will be too much on my knees. For legs I plan to do hamstring curls, bicycle 15mins, calf raises, and the exercises I did with that big ass rubber band. I just want to get back in shape and I guess if I have surgery I will have stronger muscles and be able to heal faster.

    Thanks for the replies btw!!
