My gym already has a horizontal leg press unit (where the seat and the foot rest are on the same level). And recently we obtain an angled leg press unit (where the seat is at the bottom and the foot rest is elevated at about 45 degree above the horizontal ground). My question is, what is the difference between these 2 units / leg press positions in terms of the leg muscles being worked on? How should I make the most of each unit, or are they actually just the same?

They should be the same, I havent seen the Horizontal type but I bet if you could prop it up so it was at 45 deg the angle of the seat to the foot placement should be the same as the one on a 45 deg.
