Only really need 3-6 hours a week, but i wouldn't train every day. You need to recover from your workouts if you're going to make any progress at all. 90 minutes, 3 times a week is usually good for most people.

Your diet will set you free.

It depends on the workout you perform, your level of experience relative to that workout, and your ability to recover.

Personally, I can only remain interested for about 45 minutes before I lose my focus and the quality of my work declines, so I try to make all of my workouts last about 45 minutes.

From my understanding it should be under an hour. If after an hour and you can do more then you either not using enough weight or you are taking too long of rest between sets.
