I've read in different places that cardio is not necessarily a good thing when starting to train for mass gain. However, I've also read several articles / posts where people say that STARTING their workout with some cardio is good to get the heart rate up and also bring up the body’s temperature.
I like the feeling of starting out with a little cardio, since it get me to a sweat and it does make start the heart pumping, (also doubles as pre-workout stretching) versus just walking into gym and hitting the weights.
The fear here is, if I am doing cardio at beginning of workout, am I impacting precious calories that are needed for mass gaining?
I only try to do about 10 to 15 minutes, and the machine tells me that approx 200 calories have been burnt.
I appreciate what the group thinks about this, thanks for your input.
whats the problem? adding 200 calories to your diet cant be that hard. burning 200 calories that can be replaced with two mouthfulls beats walking in the gym and tearing your pec.
go for it ... it should not impact anything
besides itll get you and your body PUMPED so in effect youll prob be able lift more and get MORE benefits from the hormones and chemicals released
