What I saw in the gym today

Wow...Some guy came in, did some cold stretches, then started doing 135lb cross legged lateral deadlifts....???? I guess. Legs crossed and going staight up and down, but then turning and going about 45 degrees from center, going off to the side, twisted. Back like a goddam rainbow to top it off.

I'm pretty tech savvy but for some reason lately I'm seeing things in the gym and otherwise that I wish I would've snapped a quick pic with my phone camera. I gotta do better catching dumbos in 2011.

Why the hell do people try to do all this ridiculous stuff? You see people doing pointless crap on bosu balls, various odd movements with the cable machine, etc. Why can't people just pick up a barbell and lift it?

Wow, that's gonna be a short lived bodybuilding endeavor. I got pains in my back just visualizing that.

    Wow...

There's some dude in my gym who has a twitch I guess. He always looks like he's trying to pop his neck.

    But no ball squatters.

That's how you know it's time to find a new trainer. I've seen some back stuff, but nothing near as bad as what Merk described in his post.
