    Crtique my leg routine

    Squat: 4x6
    Hang Clean: 4x6
Straight Leg Deadlift (very light weight): 3x10
    Lunges: 3x8
    Quad Machine: 3x10
    Calf Raises: 3x10

It's basically the one I did in weights class. I know very little about lifting legs so I'd appreciate any comments.

I like it. Maybe take out one exercise and sub in 3 sets of standing calf raises.

I know that it definitely works your shoulders but after I do it I feel it in my quads. I'm pretty sure its mostly a leg workout but uses your shoulders as well. I couldn't tell you for sure though.

ok then, personally if your doing a split routine i would use hang cleans for shoulder day. just because you already have deads and squats on the same day, in which would kill me in itself, let alone doing hang cleans aswell. just my opinion though fella!!

Hang cleans are a hip-extension (hamstring) exercise for the most part.

I would do hang cleans first and do 5x3 or 10x1 instead of 4x6.

    What are your goals?

depending on your goals you are not doing enough hams at all i think a good routine would be as follows 5 min walk on tread mill, 3-4 sets extensions (10-12), 3-4 sets squats (10-15), 3 sets leg press (10-15), lying leg curl 3 sets (10-12), stiff leg deads 3 sets (10-12) and finish off with standing leg curls for a good pump legs are made up of type 2b muscle fiber so they react better to higher reps for muscle hypertrophy (growth)
    and throw calves in whenever

I would drop the Lunges and Quad Machine. On the squats I would add a rest pause 15-20 reps set.

    lol @ this routine.

Nix the machines and just Squat a2g or paralell.

Hit calves when done with Squats. If you still need more ham action, hit em on deads.

My opinion on deads and squats during the same session isnt good. Alternate your leg workouts with a heavy compound each time.

    Leg day 1, simply squat

    Next time, Deads w/BB

Then Hex bar deads or Lunges

Even 30 second sprints followed by walking. Alternate.

My goals are just to have a day of legs that will provide me a good workout and add some mass and strength to max legs. Nothing too much and I don't want to hit legs too hard. Just improve my leg strength a little.

I'm currently wrestling and I do that about 6 times a week. We do intense cardio and sprint at practice and a lot of the wrestling itself involves your legs, which is why I don't need some crazy routine or anything like that. Just a basic routine to gain some extra strength and give the ladies a little something to look at on my backside .
