    Question on rest days

I train pull push leg rest repeat and I have Soccer in the fall and wrestling in the winter. Two rest days of weights in a 8 day period is not having negatives on me. I keep getting stronger and since I took Built's advice (thanks btw) to increase calorie consumption I've been gaining a lot more mass. Yet more and more that I read from this site I keep hearing that you should have one rest day for every work out day. Is it my age, 17? Or something else? Should I add more rest days? Please elaborate

YOu will be fine. Just dont train everyday of the week. If you feel yourself feeling run down, then take a break.

Why not try taking more rest days and see how that works? If you don't like it, go back to your normal routine. Nothing wrong with trying out new/different routines, it will increase your fitness knowledge. By trying out new things, you can determine what gives you the best results.

rest is subjective, you have to always take the intensity at which exercise is performed at. the human body is not designed to be sedentary that being the case you can exercise daily BUT you must vary the intensity of your exercise to prevent CNS burnout which is what ultimately causes over-training.
I train differently than most, my beef is with gravity the weights on the bar are just the medium...Thanks to Wall Street your slice of the American Pie has been reduced to a crumb.

The increase in calories will help. Just keep an eye on your progress, and for the signs of over-reaching (general fatigue, lack of desire to workout, decreased appetite etc etc).

I usually only have 1 rest day a fortnight and have gone as long as a few months without a rest day at all!!
but i can only get away with this with really high calorie intake in the 7000 cal range.
for example if had trouble getting meals in for a little over a week due to various reasons and so its harder to train that freqeuntly its hard for me to not train but i've got to be smart about it.
