How long do you rest between sets?

I'm curious.. what are your opinions on the perfect length of time to rest between your sets?

I'm sure it varies for different muscle groups and fitness goals though.. I'm strictly trying to bulk by the way..

60 seconds to 2 minutes, most of the time 90 seconds. I set my stopwatch for a minute twenty.

So the answer here is what??? 60 seconds, 120 seconds, 90 seconds or 80 seconds.

Corrie, there is no PERFECT rest time between sets.
So, do this, rack the weight, change your weights up or down, flex the muscle/s your working a few times, take several deep breaths, then get into the next set.

This should take somewhere between 60 to 120 seconds.

It depends on what your doing, for bodybuilding supposedly science says 60-90 seconds. If you set your stopwatch for 1:20 as I said, this gives me enough time to start it, stop it, and take a breath giving me 90 seconds.

For powerlifting the numbers go way up, likewise will many people go longer for squats, 2 minutes plus. Powerlifters go to 4 minutes or so on heavy lifts.
