I have stuff at home, but it's something about the atmosphere of being in the gym, all the cool shit and the metal blaring. It just gets me going and makes me want more. I would have to say 'yes' I need/love the gym

I'm gonna start lifting at home again after 2 years of the gym.
I've got all the stuff at home I need, the only thing missing is a leg press but i figure squats and lundges should take care of that.

We'll see if I can last without the gym.

I have a home gym, but I also go to a commercial gym. For a couple of reasons, there is equipment at the commercial gym that I do not have at home, and boredom.

I have gotten very dependant on my home gym though, I find myself working out at home 2 days per week, and at the commercial gym only once per week now.

It depends what your goals are.

If you want a good place to meet people of the opposite sex then go to a gym obviously.

If you want to stay fit with no goals of being a muscle head working out at home will do you just fine. Thats me by the way.

If you are doing heavy supps and or juice than the right gym will be absolutely necessary!!!!!!!!!!

actually that is the mentality of many people that work-out at gyms!

I think that you can workout at home and still have goals. I have a home gym, and it's equipped quite well.

Hell, If you got a settup like a gym at home you can do some good build. Most people dont. I think most have a power rack, lat/row and dumbells or stack weight setups.

A gym that has levers, smith, stack, dumbells, slides, power racks...like Golds. I played at Golds for a year. It was pretty amazing.

I have tried both, and ultimately like the gym not only for motivation, but sheer quantity of machines, and ability to put things back easily/quickly and move to anther machine instead of playing with dumbells all day etc, especially if you dont have a huge garage/room to work out in, etc

The gym here, it's just the atmosphere. A lot of people with similar goal and interests can be quite motivating even if you don't know any of them.

At home it would be to easy to do the "i'll work out later" and start doing some chores or watching tv or something.

The gym.........sounds dumb, and is, but I find I can lift more when someone is watching, than when I am simply pushing myself I guess that means the atmosphere
