    Is P90x for women?

Hey Everyone.. I'm a mother of 3 in my 30s.. getting back into fitness. I've been a reader for a while, just finally creating my own account. Trying to decide if I should join a gym or try to do something at home.

I watch these youtube P90x videos and they are pretty motivating...but not sure if they are for women.

    What do you think?

There is a group of women in my neighborhood that get together in the mornings and do P90x, almost all moms. Guess they have a lean version as well that they do that doesnt have as many of the lifts and pull-ups and replaces them with some cardio discs.

It is definitely a routine that women can engage in. Every one of the workouts has one or more women performing the exact same exercises as men.

Yep - women can overtrain using P90X too.

Women might have a harder time with appetite, though.

I agree, I think it's over training. In my opinion.

Just a question for the original poster, what are your goals?

If it's like most women, getting back into fitness translates into "toning up".
Nothing will do that like some good ol fashion resistance training. Hit the weights

I tried out the workouts for a good month or so last year. Its certainly intense, I started cause I wanted to bring some consistency. I stopped because the amount of work put in did not equal the amount of results I was seeing. I had a clean diet, but didn't follow theirs.

Over a month doing that crap, killing myself, was outdone by 1-2 weeks of builts full-body routine. I am only sad I wasted time trying it out. I am pleased with my progress, and I am not killing myself.
Just a girl.... Looking for muscles!!
