    fell on ice..ouch

While walking dog yesterday at 5am I took a spill on some ice. landed quite hard on hip and right shoulder. Since than my range of movement in shoulder is very limited and hurts. I can raise arm in front of me to about eye level. But laterally I can only move it about a 1' - 1.5' from side without assistence. When I use my left hand to raise right arm I can get about 85% of range of motion with slight discomfort. But cannot do it on its own, weird. If not better by monday going to go to Doc. In meantime my question is: Should I leave shoulder/arm alone and keep it still and motionless or should I suck up the pain and try to force more range of motion and movement?

If it hurts that's you're body telling you not to do it. Leave it alone until you can get to a doctor and if the pain gets to be too much then go to the emergency room. I know the feeling as I slipped on the ice and broke my leg a little over a month ago.
