    3 months with elbow tendonitis

I just got done with physical therapy, I now go see the orthopedic again next week. I clearly still have tendonitis, its still swollen and I still feel pain.

Whats going to happen next? This is going to be my 4th visit to the orthopedic. Before physical therapy I asked about a cortizone shot, but he said thats not a good solution right now, but that was before physical therapy. Could I get one now? I wont be stupid and push heavy weight with the cortizone shot, Ill let it heal.

Things I have done: Tried prescription topical gels, high dose ibu profen, iced, 3 months no gym/rest, 1 month of physical therapy. MRI/xray are good

    What now?

You need to take at least 9 months off all upper body work.

That or you can suffer forever.

I have had it for a year now. I have done no biceps work since then. I asked my doctor about it last Friday, and his simple response was to give me ibuprofen and tell me to rest it.

My biceps have shriveled away, and that has given me an ego deflation, I have to admit. I used to like getting comments on my biceps.

Do not do any cable push down or vbar pushdowns, or especially dips. Its better to shrivel up for awhile, rather then cause permanet damage. Try some elbow sleeves, they help.

Even bench presses hit biceps. It's one of the toughest muscles to let rest, but you must do it for it to heal. Otherwise you could cause permanent damage. Working on technique, stretching and warming up prior to lifting will prevent tendonitis from coming back.

I used to suffer from this a lot before I resigned myself to the fact I have to be very careful about the above 3 precautions.

The biggest thing is going to be to let it rest. How much fish oil do you take a day? I have heard good things about Aflutops.
