I dropped a bar once the first time I tried to do a 300 bench. It was also the first time I ever had a spotter, and with a brain fart, I said "OK," as in psyching myself up and he thought I meant "OK, I am ready." Completely dropped the sucker on my chest. Took me a month to recover.
You can't lose concentration when you lift, and looking at this guy's expression, I think his brain was in la-la land and he just relaxed, not that the weight was too much for him.


I would never use straps for a lat pull down. This guy is obviously a dumb fuck. I've never seen anyone (even gym idiots) do that in real life.

Who cares what someone else can or can't lift? I will admit that sometimes I give a surreptitious condescending look to the light-lifters, but that is just my ego getting in the way. At least they aren't sitting on the couch eating chips and watching CSI as their exercise.
I was a runner when I started lifting in earnest as I couldn't run in Iraq, and I had to put up with the Blackwater contractors looking down on me with my 50 lb dumbbell flies and the like, keeping them from their "serious" workouts as I took my turn on the benches. Now that I can lift more than most of the guys at my gym, there is no need to act like an asshole and put down others.


yeah i got you man. Im just saying I wold prefer more serious lifters at my gym. This guy would be better suited for the YMCA or something. I mean I don't think this guy would fit in at Bevs or a hardcore Golds. But there are very few hardcore gyms left so he would fit in at most. Im sick of god damn shake bars and social hour. I go to the gym to fuckin train. Im not putting this guy down, if he wants to hit the gym thats fine you gotta start somewhere. Im just saying he should train at home of go to a gym that suits his fitness level.
