That replaces your muscle's energy stores better than vegetables and protein foods. You need that. Don't puke though. That will throw your body way off balance. So, since you said "..really drunk.." my answer is, "Yes."

    1st & formost, fuck you for being an eagle's fan. . . .

seriously, i drink when i'm in maintenance mode. i find it counter-productive when i'm bulking or cutting though.

bulking - i don't eat as much when i drink (it's not like weed). plus, i will get fucked up and not go to the gym, so the calories i did intake will be stored (fat).

cutting - again, i will get fucked up and not feel like going to the gym. alcohol metabolizes to sugar in your blood. your blood sugar goes WAY up. that's counter productive.

maintenance - i'm not terribly concerned about either, so i endulge. it makes the times i have to refrain easier.

Alcohol does a tonne of things that undermine physical performance. Drinking in general will probably fuck with your progress, more so if you do it to excess, more so if you do that regularly.

If you can put up with that, by all means drink. If you don't want that, don't drink.

I'm not going to moralize with anybody about this because we're all adults here, this isn't about whether drinking is "wrong" or "right". Shit, i'm a whisky fanatic and collect rare and expensive ones.

The fact is, though, that alcohol DOES greatly effect performance. Personally, I only ever drink on my off weeks, and even then it's generally not to the point of being drunk. You have your own set of motivations for doing what you do, so it's your choice.

Drinking is far worse than our society percieves it to be. Just because it is legal people think it is ok. Well that couldn't be farther from the truth. Many people die every year from drunk drivers and the effects of alcohol. I used to drink on a near daily basis when I was 16-19 yrs old. Then I realized that I was slowly getting no where fast. I was falling into my families down fall myself. I had two uncles and one aunt die from alcohol all on one side of my family. One uncle died from Drinking and driving luckily he didn't kill those he wrecked into. Another uncle drank himself to death he weighed 88 lbs when his sister my mother found him collapsed on the bathroom floor he had been there for 3 days. My aunt died when her liver finally gave out after years of alcohol abuse she weighed 92 lbs when she passed. They all were under the age of 50. My mother has had DUIs been too jail, rehab, and still drinks. You can't tell me it isn't that bad I have seen the effects first hand. It is ashame that alcohol is legal when other things which are far less harmful are illegal ( Marijuana ). Cigs and alcohol kill millions every year. Cigarettes have no benefits what so ever. Imagine how many lives could be saved if both were replaced with marijuana. The lives saved would be in the millions. Everyone needs something to help relax and release inhibitions from time to time. Alcohol is not the smart choice. It destroys the liver when you binge and makes you feel like shit. I could go on and on Sorry for the rant. I don't drink anything more than 2 drinks ever anymore. If I want to relax I smoke a joint and feel much better overall Happy, hungry, in need of rest those are the effects. I am not saying it is harmless because it is not but it is much safer and more usefull to health oriented goals.
