Hi guys
I was at the gym yesterday (as you do) and the guy who looks after the gym expressed concern to me about not training the front of your calf (no one does it etc)
He rekons that if you dont train it you get a muscle inbalance (too much on the back and none on the front) and this can lead to "shin splints"
He reckoned that you work it by lifting from the toe and pivoting at the heel (which on demonstration seemed to work) Stand on your own toe and then try to lift it....... see the muscle stick out the front.....
So what do you guys think..........?
If you do it, how do you do it ?
Thanks again
Peet
Well, I've never done it, but I've had shin splints before.
Mine were mostly caused by bad footware and if I do to many hills, they start to bother me.
I really don't think your going to get a muscular imbalance though and if you don't do alot of hill running, I wouldn't be to concerned about it. IMAO.
