    Just curious- MMA workouts

Sometimes at work I look up GSP, Penn, or Overeem or someone who's jacked and has a rep for insane work outs to see what they do.

I've never found an actual work out log from a training session they do online.

I can find bits and pieces of they do this exercise or that. They do two a days and sometimes three a days (insane), but never a log of what exercises w/ reps or time or anything.

Just curious if anyone has come across that. I'm pretty sure its p90x but not 100%.

(that last part was a joke btw for the dipshits that dont know me)

by them saying they do 2 or 3 a days its not lifting it could be circuit training in am and jiu jitsu afternoon and striking pm.

what they do is jiu jitsu/wrestling 4-6 days a week
    striking 4-6 days a week
weight or circuit conditioning 2-4 days a week
    spar 4-6 days week
    each traininers different
best bet is to find a good mma school and train there.
google mma schools in the area close to you pm them to me and ill find out which are the better ones for you.
    hope this helps

From personally knowing a fair amount of very successful pro fighters, the majority of them spend a few days in the weight room and do full body explosive routines, and then spend the majority of their time working the skills of being a fighter..striking days, jiu jitsu, wrestling, etc.. and the resistance training they do is usually set up in a circuit as a giant set of 6-10 exercises and they run through it 2-3 times so it's endurance based too. They dont spend a ton of time in the weight room. Circuit training is their main method of getting/staying in shape.

Yeah, because they don't want to become bloated and awkward.

Very little "working out", most time spent building endurance in the ring or on the mat. You have to remember most of the fighters are cutting 20, 30+lbs before a fight so they are not spending alot of time try to add muscle.

There routines isolate around compound movements at high reps to help increase endurance, xplosiveness, and core strength. Most of the time these are done after a couple hrs of practice and drills. So the focus is not so much on gaining muscle but maintaining and fine tuning.

He hasn't been busted yet so probably not, a good fighter regardless.
