I can't even imagine how it would affect me. I have those same problems you "had" BjUaFyF, and i don't even smoke. Just my respiratory problems....I can do cardio (although I don't do it at all cuz I have such a high metabolism and am trying to put on some muscle)..but when lifting weights, I often get headaches or light-headed....especially on squat days...hehe, boy are those fun!!!

For your question on a good exercise for a wider/thicker chest, I'd say split the two goals and do heavy bench presses for thickness and a wide-grip bench press for widening the chest. I guess you could do heavy wide-grip bench presses for both goals, it's a matter of personal preference..??

As for the supplements, if you haven't yet, I recommend reading these articles here on IM.

    Smoking and Weight Training........

    It's like:

Running a marathon in bare feet.

Riding a bike with a flat tire.

Driving a car with an empty tank.

Building a fire with wet matches.

    Mowing the lawn with scissors.

    GET IT?????

I'd be more concerned with the effect on my respiratory system than muscular gain.

Smoking is not something that is "ok" in moderation. It serves absolutely no purpose.

It has no beneficial health effects (ignoring nicotine's effect, we're talking smoking here).

It has no social effects (I'd fly to, and hit anyone who says smoking a cigarette looks cool).

It has no "high" associated with it, except the first few smokes where you get the nicotine rush.

And it is a very expensive habbit.

no exercise gets your ripped, it comes from getting lean, and getting lean is accomplished thru proper dieting.

    Very true

It has no social effects (I'd fly to, and hit anyone who says smoking a cigarette looks cool).

No smoking does not look cool, but there are social effects/gratifications beyond looking cool after addicted and smoking full time, bar hoppin (clubbing I beleive it's called in the Uk) meeting with freinds who smoke, driving, after dinner with freinds......I always smoked more when I was around freinds who smoked.

It has no "high" associated with it, except the first few smokes where you get the nicotine rush.

true in a sense, the first two packs were interesting, room spinning and loss of balance as well as light headed and numb feeling, that feeling fades, but the feeling of being relaxed after having a smoke is a high in itself.

And it is a very expensive habbit.
    very very very expensive

That too, One thing I find amazing still is how bad smokers smell.
When a freind leaves the room to have a smoke and then returns the smell is disgusting but when ya smoke ya can't smell it......
