Working 11pm to 7am. I hit Gym by 0730 in bed by 0930-1000am. Up at 3-4pm. This happens until day 6. 2 on 1 off 2 on 2 off workout schedule THIS MAKES WED, SAT SUN OFF DAYS. Off for 3 days but on that 3rd day I go back to work at 11pm to 7am so I'm actually awake from about 6am until next day and if I hit gym first day back I'm in my 26th hour of awakedness working out to the 28th hour then to bed. Workout typically blows, energy is for shit and strength is zapped. If I skip it then I end up going 3 straight days. Schedules sucks that go without saying, i guess i just said but im tired so fuck it. Any possible suggestions from anyone who works shift work or anyone who see's an alternative.
I do nights, afternoons and days so my body clock is all over the place. The thought of going the gym straight after nights makes me feel ill haha, i always go to bed first for as long as i can (i know its hard to sleep during the day) and then hit the gym around 4-5pm after ive been up a couple of hours.
Ive also found that with working shifts, 3 days is the right amount of days for me to go the gym, 50 mins weights and 20 mins cardio. This is because after nights sometimes you just cant physically manage the gym or stomach it for that matter, usually the first and last shift in a block are when you feel worst. However, i can always manage just 3 days a week.
All I ask is the chance to prove that money can't make me happy.
I knew I wasn't the only one with a fucked up schedule. This week I couldn't get myself to go into gym after my first night back so I worked out at home an hour after I woke up. This threw me off because then I went to work and after I was too tired so I'm working out when the family is sitting down to diner. I'm off to Florida tomorrow so I'll probablly split routine it today cutting a few sets off in order to get in two days work out in 24hrs. Keith your schedule is worse than mine.
