I just got back from the gym, I was working chest and I was at my heavy set doing 275 for a set of 3, I was struggling with the third rep, when a guy in the gym decides to spot me from one side of the bar, causing extra weight on my right side.
My normal next set is doing 245 to failure, when I tried to do one I felt a sharp pain in my right shoulder. Now I have pain and cant lift my arm up straight, so I had to cut my workout short.
I never had should pain at all, I am not sure what to do to treat it. I am so mad that someone would spot me from one side of the bar. Who does that?
What I am scared of is having to take a few weeks off, when I have been getting really good results.
Any advise to get my should back in the game would be apperciated.
find a sport chiropractor in your area... make he/she is a sports chiro not a regular chiro.. see if he/she treats the pro athletes in your area... i could not move my arm a couple of months ago.. and my chiro popped my shoulder and had full range of motion...
Do NOT fuck with a tweaked shoulder. It will NOT improve if you train through that kind of pain.
Get it checked out, and train whatever doesn't hurt you. If that means "deads and weighted chins", then you train deads and weighted chins, do some sprint intervals, abs, work on your flexibility and whatever else you can train (leg press if squats are out for a while, tibialis, calves).
There is ALWAYS something to work on. You WILL get injured again. I don't get side-tracked by injuries because I know that other parts of my body need periods of focus.

Thanks for the advise, I know I have to stop certain thing for a while. It really sucks because I have been making really good gains and dont want to stop.
I woke up today and I am able to move my arm alot more than I was two days ago. I dont think I hurt the muscle but what else would it be that would start to heal with in a few days. I know its not 100%, but the fact is it is healing quicker than I thought.
I hurt my shoulder in motorcycle crash, I babied it for some time and at times felt like it was healing abeit slowly. Then I started have pain when I bench pressed but not during shoulder press. Long and the short of it was I kept pushing and it progressively began to get worse again. I pushed until I couldn't stand the pain even though once i started lifting and got the blood flowing to the joint it i was able to get through a workout but it eventually just deteriorated. End result, tore the labrum from the bone , sidewall tear and verticle tear of rotary cuff, lateral tear of the bicep tendon. 4 titanium anchors and four holes later.... It set me back 1 1/2 years. Get the MRI or at least see an ortho. Set backs suck.
Be extra careful, I hurt my shoulder in late 2004 and in early 2005, trying to train through the pain like an idiot, tore my rotator cuff. A few days/weeks off is much better then being out for 6-8 months. Trust me on this.
Rest, ice, NSAIDS and if no improvement in a week, see a doctor.

Anyone have any idea?
It may be hard to take a break but force yourself to do it.
Thanks for the advise, I have been icing several times a day and went to the gym once so far since the injury and worked Biecps and calfs. I am going to stay away from all presses and over head movements.
