    cardio info

just had modified brostrom procedure on my left ankle this past week. Im NWB for several weeks, and then wont be able to run for quite sometime. Any input on how to sustain what little cardio I have left. I haven't been able to pt in a couple months since I tore a ligament. So i have already lost alot of cardio.

Do they have Krankcycles at your gym? They are the hand cycle machines which I've used for people with leg injuries in the past.

Another way is to perform easy weight movements with light resistance and high reps, which is essentially what cardio is - keep your heart rate up with short rest periods. Kind of like circuit training if you can do it.
Today I can do what others will not so that tomorrow I will do what others cannot.

The difference between winners and losers is that winners do things that losers don't want to do.

Any movement in the water will help such as swimming.

just wait and don't do anything until 4 weeks or until you feel ok to train. don't go over stress your body and get more damage done to yourself. just make sure you watch your calories intake and keep active and stretching for the mean time.
