I do very little cardio on my off week. Maybe walk at a slow pace outside or on the treadmill, swim a bit. Just don't do anything too intense.

you can surely do cardio but if you are feeling like you may be feeling some CNS burnout then definitely no HIT cardio keep it low intensity.

technically any load that is 50% of less than the 1RM won't cause any micro-trauma to skeletal muscle or tax the CNS....
I train differently than most, my beef is with gravity the weights on the bar are just the medium...Thanks to Wall Street your slice of the American Pie has been reduced to a crumb.

On a deload, depending on whom you ask, Jim Wendler wants you to reduce volume (on 531) by 60%; others say shorten the sets and reps; still others say do some light cardio. The point of the deload is to give both the CNS and the body a rest by reducing what you normally do.
I say do 60% of short sets and less reps. Continue to do cardio, because you're working two totally different physiological systems. Plus there are some theories that cardio is good for you and can help progress, as well as cutting inflammation.
