    once or twice

for a natural bodybuilder only using whey as a supplement with about 1 years experience, is it more effective to do each muscle once as in push/pull/legs or twice as in upper/lower per week?

You'll get a range of answers on here. Myself and Ihate happen to be partial to hitting each bodypart 2xweekly. many others prefer once weekly.

for your situation less is more so try out 1xweekly and see how you fare, if your not growing increase your frequency.

eventually you'll find what works for you

I keep it simple, and found that training everything once per week, when not on cycle works well for me, on cycle I hit everything twice.

Myself and some of my people are on 3 days on, 1 rest, 3 days on, 2 rest so that you basically hit every part 3x every two weeks. So far it has helped reduce any nagging injury problems (at least from my end).

But like everyone says, you have to find what works for you and keeps you making gains consistently.
Today I can do what others will not so that tomorrow I will do what others cannot.

The difference between winners and losers is that winners do things that losers don't want to do.

i've read a fair bit on it, looking at layne norton etc and other natural bodybuilders and some research most of it seems to suggest that if you are total beginner 3 times a week is good and if you've lifted for half a year plus 2 times a week is optimal. think im going to do a push pull type routine A B A so 3 times in 2 weeks and use one day 5 x 5 and the next a hypertrophy day more like 3 x 10 format

Twice a week is the sweet spot, but you got to play around with the volume/intensity/exercise selection to fit your own capabilities.
