Time on and off depends on how quickly you recover and if you are natural. What movements and intensity you are doing is the more important to focus on. I usually go 2 on 1 off but I am hitting everything twice in 6 days.

Just throw up your damn routine allready as is.
Other variables are how are you feeling come your rest day, how bout starting it back over the next day? are you as fresh as a week prior or taxed and fatigued? Everyone is different, it would help to see what your doing BUT rest is important, as you've heard a million times thats when you grow/repair/refresh. BUT AGAIN thats all based off what your doing if you're laying waste to yourself over 6 days that 7th just may not be enough for rest, if work outs on days 5 and 6 are getting half assed then theres another sign you need to break it up........whats your body telling you? and i bet you could answer your own question.

No that's a split... Here's my leg day routine:
    Squats 1 set
Front squats-work up to 1-3rep max
    Leg press 1 set

Like what exercises and sets are you doing?
