    new pr

finally got it! 225 bench, might be what some of you warm up with, but for me i've only worked out during the 3 winter months and left off when i went back to work(construction) but this winter i decided to stay with it after realizing how much i enjoy it. I have received responses from almost EVERYONE that i have pm'ed and have given me great advise, thank you all (you know who you are) i'm starting wendlers 531 next week and went about finding my current maxes. The military press i never did so i had no idea, was pleased to chart out @ 140, (6 reps @ 115), squats need help-240, deds were good, set pr there also @ 305 x2, then felt GREAT so went to the bench and finally hit that 225! thanks again to everyone, i'm so gald i found this site ! the coolest thing about it was that with some diet advise i was able to do it at the 150 pound bodyweight i wanted to be at when i set the goal. Enough "bromance", but also a sincere thank you to all!

thanks trapz, hopefully its what im looking for right now, seems like it so we'll see, i'm right at the edge of doing it because it was said if you werent at 1.5 x bw bench you shouldnt try it, so i am BARELY there. If i have to scale back to 15% under true 1rm thats also an option in order to get started

Awesome news! I hit 200 PR on bench finally after more than 30 years of off and on lifting. Was like a kid in a candy store. Video documentation, total geek moment. Definitely felt great to hit that number!

    CONGRATS ON 225!
