i read the cardio while bulking thread and it got me to wonderin will ab work affect my bulking at all? cause i do some ab work to keep em strong and able to take blows while sparing i guess like 2 days a week? will that affect anything?

Does this mean that you can not do any ab training at all, and it'd still be ok (while bulking of course)? Or should they still be trained for support (like lower back) or something?Originally posted by Prince

Exactly....ab work w/resistance. I do know that Vince Gironda was against abs while bulking......IMHO abs and lower back should always be strengthened.Originally posted by kanun

well, I do not think abs should be neglected, but I have to admit I rarely work mine.Originally posted by kanun

I dont work abs in the off season due to the fact i feel they are getting enough stimulation during other lifts. The only time I work abs is pre contest due to the fact I develop a very blocky mid section quickly
