Maybe going for that "Village People" look?? Good question, as I know they aren't the most comfy....maybe it's the steel toe feature??? Then again, why the fuq would you be dropping plates on yer toes?

I'd have to go with BOTH. Of course, the look is not complete unless the chap is wearing sweatpants with one leg pulled up to the knee.

That's what I'm thinking. I can't imagine working out in boots.

Come on, there must be an IM member or two that wears work boots in the gym!

its da shit to look hip, i guess. the only time i have ever worn my work boots to workout has been to squat, or if i was brain dead and left my cross trainers at home...........which before someone makes a comment on, rarely ever happens.

Damn, almost left yourself open, Tank.

I guess I could see MAYBE having extra ankle support, but they'd have to be laced up, and IAB hit it on the head; they ain't laced up.

Tank, I might add that I came about as close as ever to hurling after my leg workout yesterday. GP got a big kick out of knowing that. Hey, maybe boots would've helped!

It must be a fashion statement, isn't going to the gym like a fashion show? I mean nobody goes there to workout...do they?
    each to his/her own style...

I prefer to workout barefooted or wearing flip-flops (sandals), especially during the summer.

Funny thing when people forget stuff. Once saw a guy squatting in his boxers - he obviously forgot his shorts and didn't give a f*ck

I think this species likes to go by the term "scrilla macs", or "mac daddy", I know that both places I've belonged to so far do by rules not allow boots, but probably let it slide most of the time (who looks at your shoes that often).

What I find ridiculous is the people who have one pant leg up, what, one leg is hot and sweaty and the other isn't???.................

Funny, this species also has cell phones and pagers hanging from their sweats when they workout.

    haha
he probably did that on purpose trying to look cool

but truthfully with the exception of squats, and maybe lunges or something, how much does footwear effect your workout?
I know I just wear whatever I wore to school that day (which I must confess is loafers almost ALL the time).
