?? 'Best' leg machine for a home gym

Hello all, I'm looking for some advice on what to consider for working legs at home.

I've already got a good power rack for squats, a very, very cool deadlift platform (thank you peetrips and Scotty!...see older note) and also have a Weider system that's got a leg press that supposedly goes up to 444 pounds. Got yer standard cheesy bench with leg attachment for curls and extensions, but those aren't very comfortable, if ya know what I mean (see cheesy).

Also, I've got the assistance of some sick folks on the board as far as doing exercises with what I've got (lunges...multiple deads).

I don't go real heavy with my squats, for one I've got some messed up discs in my back, and second, well, I'm a pussy. But when I've used different leg press machines at the gym, I could really push some good weight and it didn't trouble my back at all. Yes, I remained a pussy in spite of this.

So, hows about some recommendations on brands, types, etc., please? I don't wanna spend a fortune, so that'll probably limit what I can get.

    Thanks in advance.

How many 45's do you have?

Lately, I've been using a trap bar loaded heavy to do my heavy squats with. The advantage I see with this is there isn't any direct pressure on your spine yet the movement remains the same. I usually superset this with moderately weighted BB squats. Talk about a killer w/o. I damn near puked the last time I did this.

I know Norther Lights makes a leg press/hack squat machine that's $999.99 sold at Fitness Depot here in Canada.
It looks good for the money but I'm not sure what you've got around where your at.

Unless you've got the money to blow, I think your doing fine with what you have already.
    Cool

Yeah, that is a big chunk of change, and you're right in that I'm fine with what I have now. My freakin' legs have felt like hamburger for the last two weeks, so they must be getting worked good enough

Should probably save my money anyway...looks like Leslie is wanting some new sneakers and a CD walkman....

I would go for a hack squat machine
I train differently than most, my beef is with gravity the weights on the bar are just the medium...Thanks to Wall Street your slice of the American Pie has been reduced to a crumb.
