Weighted Chins
Hey folks,
Any suggestions on how to perform weighted chins without the proper equipment? There is no belt available at my gym to hook anything on to. Or do you guys who do these simply go out and buy one? I have tried the dumbbell between the feet but it is a pain and dangerous as well. Any suggestions? |

you can tie plates or dumbells around your waist if you are not going extremely heavy, I have seen guys do that

All you need is a piece of rope.
How is holding a db between your feet dangerous? I agree it is a little tricky with anything heavy. |

Buy the belt .. I've gone from fidgetting with a 35lbs dumbbell to using over 90lbs on the belt .. (for dips)
Pump is that much greater when you don't have to concentrate on not dropping the DB .. (it's a pain getting the belt up with that kind of weight though ![]() |

Wow sorry to bring up a really old topic but I just came across this as I ran a search for doing weighted chins. Would you guys recommend adding weight to your backpack while doing Closegrip chinups?

You can get some sandbags and put them in a "backpack" - That'd work. Speaking of sandbags, I'm going to start training with them this summer - I'm excited.

if I go to a gym with now belt I just ask someone to place a dumbell between my feet. then I squeeze the weight and do my pullups.
