    Pushups and situps

Can pushups and situps be done everyday or even a couple times a week before bed in conjunction with regular workouts, or will this take me to the road of overtraining.
"well when i need to bang out a couple extra reps, i think to myself the weights my bitch, and the bitch wont get the best of me, hopefully in the gym they are also playing smack my btch up by prodigy"

Abs do recover fast but you should give them at least one day off between workouts.
I personally feel that twice a week is more than enough and remember, diet is the way to wash board abs.
    Cool

You have a reason to be doing them Katamaster, I don't see any benefit in him doing them, especially before bed.

Champions aren't made in gyms. Champions are made from something they have deep inside them: A desire, a dream, a vision. They have to have last-minute stamina, they have to be a little faster, they have to have the skill and the will. But the will must be stronger than the skill.

I train differently than most, my beef is with gravity the weights on the bar are just the medium...Thanks to Wall Street your slice of the American Pie has been reduced to a crumb.

They work your hip flexors more than your abs. Do crunches with weight
    Cool

Man my MA instructor have always told me to go all the way up. Now I don’t want to be the one to tell him that he don’t know what he’s doing.

I find pushups can just help get the blood flowing, and if done with variations can be a decent chest routine when you can't get to the gym.

I prefer seated, bent-over Johnson pulls....

ooops, but they don't work your chest or abs....mostly your forearms

    If anyone reads this ...
    I hate ab-work.
I sooooo hate ab-work. Anything else but.
So I've been thinking about getting one of those rolling ab wheels, with the two handles on the side and you push yourself back and forth.
I don't find that exercise nearly as hateful, so if I only used the wheel - would I still get a good ab workout? Would it turn my soft sixpack into some strange alien shape, and could I hook that little wheel up to a generator to power my grow-show in the basement?
"Just cuz I'm big and fine don't mean I aint got feelings ..."

I guess it depends on witch one you get. There are some out there that actually help you get back to starting position, I don’t know about those. Now we have one in out school gym that is just one wheel with a stick thru the middle, no fancy mechanical stuff, just a wheel with a stick and I tell you, the day I can get 20 good reps of those I’ll be the happiest guy in the world. They do work for me.

exactly what i was about to say.

sit-ups are not good for your neck or back as u put alot of strain on both.

crunches are far more targeting and does not have the chances, or as much , of ruining your back.

and yep the wheel on a stick - so simple - yet hell - pick one up for the first time and try to do 5!! good luck!

...but don't forget your diet. That's the major factor in getting that tummy looking better
