What kind of cardio are you doing? It could simply be the modality.

Just wondering whats possibly going on...everytime i increase cardio say to two sessions maybe 50-1hr total a day....my legs seem to tighten up and i always end up hurting my back...strained my lower back today and can barely walk. What could be leading to this?

Today I can do what others will not so that tomorrow I will do what others cannot.
The difference between winners and losers is that winners do things that losers don't want to do.
It seems as though every time I jog my lower back is on fire and I cannot run anymore, it feels like I'm using my lower back muscle, but I even switch stance and it hurts like hell and I have to stop running. I think it has something to do with my ab/back workouts and not giving the muscles enough time to heal before my jog.
best shit money can buy! ^^

Tight hamstrings can cause lower back pain, do you stretch after running?
I avoid the treadmill or jogging at all cost, hurts my lower back and knees. I swear by the elliptical for cardio. I can be on it all day with no joint pain. It is very low impact on the joints and you will burn just as much calories if not more.

How are your lower back muscles? I had the same problem and spoke with a trainer at work. He recommended some lower back exercises, mule kicks and other things that target the lumbar region. It worked for me.
However, I still hate cardio.
