I always end up tripping over the rope after 2 mins lol. I probably can go for a while if I could actually keep the beat steady and not fuck up.

I bought a heavy beaded rope. You trip on that fucker once or twice and whip yourself in the leg... you start to get in the rythm real quick.

When you say faster, I'm assuming you are referring to running speed? Correct me if I'm wrong.

If so, it's unlikely to make you much faster, if at all. Though they are often considered a low level plyometric (Which could potentially help speed), you are only likely to see any kind of improvements in speed if your fitness levels were initially very low. Even then, it's highly questionable.

Jump rope for improving cardiovascular fitness, on the other hand, is fantastic. I think it's great to incorporate into an exercise circuit or performed as some kind of interval training session.

I box 2-3 times a week and do 3 x 3 minute rounds jumping rope. If you did that daily you'd be super fit. Do it boxing style, 3 minutes and then 1 minute rest.
