I enjoy working out but i have started facing a serious problem on knowing on when to start and stop my training sessions.
i would be grateful for your tips
thanks in advance
If you're talking about time in the gym on any given day, I'd say general guidance is 45 min for days other than leg day, and up 60 min on leg day. This doesn't include cardio time, if you are doing that as well.
Another guidance is to not try to do EVERYTHING in one session - have your training split scheduled reasonably so you are getting sufficient recovery time for any given muscle group as well as overall recovery time so you don't end up w/ CNS overload. You don't need to "get a pump" or "be sore" to determine if you've lifted enough for a single day.
Put together a routine and stick to it. It really is that simple. Go in to the gym with a plan, don't get distracted. I swear us weightlifters are the world's largest collection of obsessive compulsive personalities out there. For most it is really hard to stay structured. You spend a hour or two putting together a nice routine, get going with it, then you read an article in a muscle mag, BOOM new routine.
Put a program together and set a period of time, usually 90 days. The at the end of the 90 days, evaluate your progress from an established base line (what you did the first week), then tweak or change as needed.
good solid advice for all here ...... it all stuff thats known but easily forgotten as we get carried away in the moment lol reminders for me are crucial
