Look... I weigh 250pds and jay cutler is about the same. Why is it that if we both walked onstage I would get laughed off the planet? This is just the way it is, everybody is different and have their own strengths and weakness. Just try the 5/3/1 program and don't tell him about it. Then you will see who has the better bench.

Most likely technique, also influenced by your proportions, mental focus ect.

In all honesty, who gives a fuck, thats a decent enough bench so just roll with it. If it really bugs you then just tighten up in other areas (ie sleep, stretching, pre & post nutrition) and you'll slowly catch him.

Could be that his arms are shorter or perhaps he just simply has a stronger chest than you and you're stronger on other lifts. My cousin and I have been working out for a couple of years together. He's 5'10", 170lbs and I'm 6'1", 200 lbs.. I can out lift him when it comes to pull movements, squats we're somewhat even yet he can out bench me by a good 40 lbs. I have thought about his too and noticed his range of motion is shorter due to shorter built, shorter arms. I have very long arms for my height so I always find push movements harder while I benefit on pull movements such as deadlifts.

He is better at bench than you.

    This isn't rocket science.
