    Weigh more left more?

Hi, i'v got a huge debate here my brothers 20 im 21 he dont work out but his still strong, we went gym the other day and we was benxhing i can do 70kg ( not alot iknow but thats my limet above that and i can not hit 8 reps ) so anyways im 170 pounds his 240 and his 5'10 im 5'7 so he can bench 50kg maybye abit less ... His saying that because iv been training for a year he aint strong as me thats why and if he hit the gym for just 6 months he said he would be bigger and way stronger then me, now k agree 100% but what i'm saying is it's because of your weight the more you weigh the more you lift now i dntno if thats true so i wanted to know whos right?

No not necessarily, but it can help. Doesn't really matter though, tell him he's a fat POS and until he proves it he shouldn't talk lol

The real answer is: who gives a fuck. Who can bench more now? There's your answer to the question "who can bench more". I could say in four years time i would be as strong as Kazmaier but it doesn't make it true. What matters is what you can do now.

Size doesn't always mean stronger. When I was real skinny I was benching and lifting more then some of the big guys and I even had better form. Never under estimate a smaller guy, they can pack a lot of strength.

im 145lbs and regulary grapple with a class of 30 guys of all different sizes and my opinion is size isnt always directly related to strengh unless your talking big weight difference like 135lbs vs 200lbs.
ive been training just over 10 years and my strengh is closer to that of some one 20lbs heavier than me even some 200lb guys feel weak especialy when there energy is getting low.

im not particulary strong in the gym either ie bench-165,squat-190,dead-250 (all for 2 or 3 reps)

please dont take this the wrong way as i dont fully understand what your going on about but by the sound of it forget about "tensing ya arms" and gear for the moment as it sounds like you need to concentrate on your diet and training if you want to gain mass, with out diet and correct training your wasting your time and money taking steroids.
research on "bulking diets" and "compound excercises" will yield you the results your looking for.
