Question progress...question

BODYBUILDING SUPPLEMENTS
High Quality Supplements For Bodybuilders and Athletes. www.ironmaglabs.com
i was in a bulking stage until recently..when i started cutting down..and this has been my progress...

08/28/00
weight: 182
bodyfat: 17.5%
fat: 31.85
lean muscle mass: 150.15

01/04/01
weight: 173
bodyfat: 13.9%
fat: 23.33
lean muscle mass: 149.67

02/12/01
weight: 169
bodyfat: 10%
fat: 16.9
lean muscle mass: 152.1

ok, i look in the mirror and notice an incredible difference... alot more definition (and 2 more pounds of muscle...) but i look thinner than when i was at 182... even though i gained 2lbs of muscle..any ideas? is this normal... ill be back to a bulk phase in a a month or so, im hoping to raise that lean muscle mass alot...

It probably is due to where you gained the muscle mass. If your shoulders widen, it could make you waist look much smaller. err i'm just guessing here

Yes your going to look thinner, you've dropped 15lb of fat, if you took 15lb of fat and 15lb of lean muscle and put it side by side the fat would look like much more.

BTW, you've done an awsome job of cutting. Its almost imposible to cut without loosing some lean muscle mass and you've managed to put on a few more pounds. YOU THE MAN!!!

What kind of cutting did you do? how much cardio, diet?

ahh i see... thanks for all your help scotty, not just with this post, but with many before... really appreciate it. Anyway, i do NO cardio at all... its all about the diet... when cutting i do the following;

protein: weight x 1.5
carbs: weight x 2
fat: weight x 0.3

i havent tried the bulking version of this, but it would just be boosting the carbs and fat a bit....

another question... this should be obvious but want to make sure.... now when i start the bulking phase again, if done properly, most of the weight gained should be lean muscle right (besides some fat ofcourse.) I'd love to get to 180 with >10% of bf

Cool Frank, diet is so important and should be the first thing anyone getting into physical fitness should learn about.

I would agree that most of the body weight gained should be lean muscle if done right. But I think it'll take longer if you try to keep your BF low while doing it.
I would say keeping your body fat around 15% while bulking will give you the best results for gaining the lean muscle.

Good Luck, not that you need it.
