Any tips on how to increase range of motion on squats? My hips are totally locked out prior to my thighs being parallel to the floor.

    pointing the knees out helps
it took one of my friends 8 weeks just to ever get deep enough even practicing with bar weight,
but he had to go deep cause otherwise he wasn;t deep enough for the new pl comp. he was attending
he found stretching the knees out to be the best advice that helps him go deep enough

Perhaps some goblet squats, or ATF back squat with moderate weight. A low box squat might also help you get in the groove of knowing where parallel is and how far down you have to go to get there.

Practice. Practice Practice. Eventually you will find your groove. Basic movements deserve a lot of attention.

Toes and knees should be pointing in the same direction. End of story.
A few people are going to have trouble being flexible enough int he hips or ankles to do a "proper" back squat but there are many variations. A front squat routine can be very helpful in developing the flexibility needed. I would say 9 times out of ten it's just flat out not knowing the form and cues and what to do when.
