I'm 21 year old girl and I want to build muscles around my hips and butt to make them grow bigger so I started doing squats.. But I was wondering which way on holding the dumbbells will put more pressure on my muscles and make them grow bigger??

    try this one:
Anyone of those you've posted will work too but the first and second ones are going to be very limiting on the amount of weight you can lift.
Your legs should be able to push much more weight than your arms can lift and hold up. Strive for higher weights, lower rep ranges and most importantly form, keeping your back straight.

I was wanting to say this but didn't want to describe it or go look for a pic.
You can use higher weight this way, for many people. Holding weights down by the side is harder for many people to get into a decent position cause the weights in the way.

This way. Ideally, you should do squats with a barbell (the long bar)

x2. also want to add, looking at the 2 pictures, make sure you are squatting deep like the man holding the single dumbell, and not high like the women you posted.
Any reason you dont want to use a straight bar?
