I'm looking for a chart that coverts reps to a max. Like if you can do say 250 for a 5, what does that put you at for a max. A friend of mine had one of these charts before but lost it. Any links would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
Thanks Andy!
How reliable are those calculators?
Just Shut Up and LIFT.
I think they are within 3 or 4 pounds at least. Close if not 100% accurate.
I'd have to disagree, well in my case anyway.
What I can lift for 5 reps drops off much faster than what the chart shows.

I do not think a chart like that is any more accurate then one of those fat charts where you key in your height, weight, etc. and it tells you you bf%.
oh, and I do not think the bf% charts are accurate!![]()

They are fairly acurate for me, very close. However it was pointed out that some people have more endurance than strength and vice versa, so it doesn't work for everyone, for me, yes its usefull.

what do you gain from it?
it can be used if you're at home and you don't have a spotter. You can trust yourself to do as many reps with a lighter weight.

I think just for 1RM, it is pretty close!

I like knowing approximately how much I am gaining on my max without actually trying to max, spotterless I might add. So basically its an ego and progress tracker kind of thing.Originally posted by Prince

If you are content with just counting X weight at X reps, then thats fine too.

Bodybuilding or powerlifting, either one may be preceived as ego sports. One talks inches, one talks pounds...
