Im coming off a (non training) injury over a year ago. I gained visceral fat while being laid up. Gained almost no body fat.
I'm now to the point where I can do all exercises, and cardio, and I think I should hit this pot belly before I try and gain any more. Gonna try my first cut cycle.
Diet: I know that I should keep proteins high, and carbs low, but what about fats?
Training: While it seems universal to drop the intensity, I see conflicting info here on rep ranges. I'm looking at 3 full body workouts .. 2 days being low reps, higher sets, of just the basic compound exercises. The third day being a longer, but lower intensity workout using low sets, high reps to burn up the glycogen stores.
Lastly, any tips on concentrating on visceral fat?
I've seen a few solid guidelines for fat intake. Built, one of the moderators on this site, espouses getting at least 1g of fat per kg of bodyweight in your diet per day. Seems like a reasonable guideline to me. More often I've seen 20% of your total calories from fat as a suggested minimum. Either way, these are minimums. Ingest as much fat as you need to meet your caloric requirements for the day assuming sufficient protein.
What you've described for your workout plan sounds reasonable. Posting up more specific details would be helpful though.
The only time it's bad to feel the burn is when you're peeing...
