Neither! Chuck Taylor high tops, bro. They are flat, light and supportive.

Black and orange.... A better cheaper one would be chucks!

Squating you want a hard flat sole. DLn the lower to the ground you are the better. But either way a hard sole is better.

I just bought a pair of Nike stupidly light (that is really their name) basketball shoe and love them for squatting and deadlifting. The are light, thin flat soled, and high top for lateral support. Have used Puma's in the past exclusively but saw these and had to give them a shot. Can't do pics from my phone sorry LB.

I think boxing shoes work best as they are very light and you can feel the ground you're stepping on.

I barefoot it personally. I also like combat/work boots for squats and deads but its annoying and loud to do cardio in them. Of those two I'd go with the pumas

No one uses vibrams? I've been thinking about getting a pair but I still can't bring myself to wearing them, they look so weird... Then again, people wear combat boots to the gym.

Get some Asics. They are light and comfortable.

Whatever you get, make sure it has as little padding as possible. So skate shoes are out.

When lifting big weight, you want a sold foundation. Padding wears out, allowing your foot to shift around inside the shoe.

I like my Asics, after I can't run in them and they aren't as supportive in terms of running, they work awesome in the gym. It spounds counter-intuitive to use like that but less give equates to more support and feel on leg work days.
