Ideal for me to start bulking is 6 -8 %. Stop at 12 % and then back to 6 - 8 %. I hit the gym 6 times per week normally...

Electric scales that ask ow many times a week you work out to determine bf? I know there are 2 types of those scales, one which you stand on and the other you old in you hand. Both send electric pulses through you and determines bf. Iirc there is maybe a 3% error give or take. But I would say if your ready to bulk mentally, then you must have a plan b already waiting for when your done. I would say your ready to go.

People GROSSLY underestimate their bodyfat percentage. a lot of people think they are sub 10, when in actually they are at least 5% higher. to the guy who said he likes to cut to 6-8%, then bulk, throw up a picture.

and the only ACCURATE bf measuring device is a bodpod. calipers are a waste, and the electronic scale you step on is a joke. look at heavyirons pictures in the uncle z head to head, he stepped on a weight scale that had a bf measure and it said something like 20%, and if you look at his pics, theres no way in hell its 20%. Also, look at his new pics and tell me what you think his bf is. most people will probably say 5% or some shit like that....end of rant lol

@ Bigbenj; Talking to me? I agree that most people underestimate their bodyfat, like most people misunderstand what people said in postings on messageboards like this. What I tried to formulate was that my ideal bodyfat percent to start bulking is 6 - 8 % and that I stop bulking when I reach 12 %. Thats how I do it, and at the moment I am 9 - 10 % bodyfat, bodyweight 217 lbs, 6'2 tall, working myself back to 6 %. I have no problems uploading a picture of myself to prove that I am 9 - 10 %, but I don't want to go off-topic either, just to please you, so if not anybody else ask for it, you will not see my picture...

Thanks man, here is a photo of me taken today. Personally I would not go bulking from where I am now, but wait a couple of months to stabilse 4 % lower or so, around 6 % bodyfat.

Anyhow, I think most people say 14-15% or lower to start bulking. Just seems to be the general consensus, from what I've seen.

What, are you sure? How much do you think I am, still 12 % after a month of dieting? Well to be honest around hallowen I took 8 days off from training and dieting, eating plenty of high carbs and low fat. This week I have been training monday - saturday, but still been eating too much carbs. So did I gain some fat the last two weeks? I doubt it, very little, I think. Today I quit eating carbs so in 4 - 5 days I will be at least 10 lbs lighter by loosing mostly waterweight. I am sure the photos will be looking different after getting rid of all that water bloat. Thanks for kicking my ass guys, this motivated me to get back to serious dieting...
