    home lifting setup

okay, im gonna start doing my lifting at home. heres what ive got so far for equpiment:
weider bench press and leg developer: this thing has a bench press with a flat, decline, and THREE DIFFERENT INCLINES. i found that weird but ill find something to do with them. then its got a little leg extension/leg curl bar, you know the drill with these $120 basic benches.

barbells and plates: ive got a barbell and plate set that is skinnny, the non-olympic kind. then ive got a non olympic spinlock curl bar which works nice. for plates it goes as follows:
iron plates: 5 five pound plates, 4 25 lb. plates. four 2 1/2lb plates. and four ten pound plates. thats 175 pounds in iron plates. then ive got these plastic like cheap sand filled plates that came with my bench, two 10's and four 15's. thats a grand total of 255 pounds.
then ive got two adjustable dumbells, and all the neccesary spin lock and squeeze on collars for all bars.

then comes the machine. we've got a big pull machine(the kind where with pins underneath plates, not some total gym rip off) that covers my leg press, lat pulls, cable rows, weighted crunches, leg extensions, and some other things i wont use like machine bench press.

for dumbell workouts i have a plain flat bench for dumbell flys, curls, etc. etc.

in addition to all this we have accesories like : a heavy bag and bag gloves, a decent treadmill, a pull up bar, doctors scale, and of course a 13 inch TV hanging from the ceiling.

Do you think i have an OK set up here?

Hey anything is better then nothing!! but It sounds pretty good for starters. Now you know what you'll be asking for for birthdays and other gift giving holidays. Set of Olympic weights: 325lbs plus bar for $150.00 or less. Some solid Dumbells so you don't have to keep changing them. Approx 42 to 50 cents a pound. A pair of 45s would be approx: $40.00. A bench that accomidates Olympic bars. Approx $250 to $300.00 (with attachemnts: leg curl/extension). Little by little as you get stronger you'll need to do some upgrading or join a gym. You'll grow out of that straight bar using plastic weights pretty quickly. You can only fit so much weight on them. Good luck.

RC I just found a bench for you to take a look at on sale for $300.00. It's a squat rack, flat/incline/decline bench all in one and with a lifetime guarentee. With this bench you can also buy seperately the Leg extension/curl apparatus.

If you shop locally you can probably find the weigh set for $99-$149, although not my FAVORITE olympic weights at all, they work. Shipping must really suck on 300 pounds, but I dont know.

Definately put money in the bench though, a crappy bench, is just, well crappy.

Mudge fitness Factory does DOES charge for shipping for IRON products so yea he can probably find those prices easily locally without having to deal with those prices. the good thing though is that the shipping and handling is free for all the other equipment including Benches Racks Etc.
Fitness Factory has retail stores also. You just need to go to the site and plug in your city and they will let you know the closest store. that is what I did when I bought from them. I'm really happy with their equipment.
