    Tricep dips

For those of you who do dips, where do you put them in your workout, and how many reps/sets do you do?

Dips used to hurt my rotators a lot, so I stopped doing them for a few of years. About two months ago, I started doing them again. I started out on one of those assist machines. With the pin set at around 50lbs of assist, I was able to do three sets of 8 reps. Now, I am using no assisted weight and can do four sets of ten. I am probably going to start using a belt with a hook to add some weight to my dips.

I do them on chest/tricep day. It's the first exercise I do after I work my chest. Also, I feel zero shoulder pain.

I do them on chest days frequently. I try to lean more forward if I can. I'm not that good at them, but I am able to add weight. On tricep days I do them as well. I lean back more, or I do them on a bench .."bench dips"...I prop my feet up on one bench an hold myself up on another and lower myself in between the benches...I place the weight in my lap for these...just be careful and don't crush your nuts!

I do them on one of those pullup/dip racks. I have not tried bench dips.

On chest days, I use the pullup/dip racks...but occaisonally to focus more on tris I do them on the bench with weight....at the end of a workout, it'll kill 'em

I usually do them on chest day. But every now and again I will do the on tricep day. I also try and lean forward when doing them for chest. I mostly do them as the last or second last excersise so that I am already pretty exhausted. I always have to hang weight from my waist otherwise I'll be there all night. I don't really like bench dips. I never feel like they are doing anything for me except putting strain on my wrists.

I do bar dips on my Bicep/Tricep day as follows:

    Power week - 2 x 4-6

    Rep week - 2 x 8-10

    Shock week - ss: dips / decline dumbbell 2 x 6-10 each

On occasion, I'll switch the bar dips for bench dips.

I do them as well, lean forward for chest days and straight up and down on tri days.
I've done the ones on the bench but don't like them as much cause its to hard to get enough weight on my lap to be worth doing. (some days I could use a partner )
    Cool

I can see where that would be a reason for not doing the bench dips. Unfortunately, I'm not at that point yet

hah, but be careful with using a partner, might crush your knees!

I do them as the last exercise on chest day. Two sets, with a target of 6-8 reps.

STB, maybe that girl with the big muscles can sit on my shoulders for front squats.
