Well it will probably affect your body in the recovery of the previous days workout too not just on Friday. Alcohol and fitness don’t go together….

I think I read somewhere that alcohol decreases protien synthesis for 24hrs. or 34hrs. or something like that, I'd have to check for sure.

Alcohol and fitness don't mix well but I guess if you need to drink just workout friday morning and get shitfaced saturday night.

*or just try not to drink at all. Alcohol really mess with your gains and not to mention all the empty calories.*

I'm believe that you need to put your goals in perspective. If your training for a strong healthy body then getting drunk every week is counter productive. I say if your going to drink keep it in moderation if at all.

I have a beer once in awhile, but getting drunk is not exactly good for the body. Are you looking for health, or getting plastered?

I cannot even remember tha last time I got "drunk", it's been years.

I used to have one or two beers on the weekend, but now that I have gotten strict with my diet I pretty much cut that out too. Not because I think one or two beers is unhealthy, I just do not want the extra calories.

I agree, if you're serious about bodybuilding, drinking alcohol is counterproductive. Figure out which is more important to you.

Right Prince. Which is exactly why I made sure to use the word "moderation". a beer here or there won't hurt anyone. In fact they say minimal alcohol such as wine is good for the blood pressure. But getting drunk well that is like eating a whole chocolate cake as far as i'm concerned not to mention what it does to your liver over an extended period of time if your getting a load on every weekend.

Alchohol and training don't mix. Drinking one beer reduces your muscle synthesis by 25%. Four beers and 100% of your workout is gone.Best thing to do is not drink
