First week or two it would be ok to do 3 days imo. It will take your body a little while to get used to the stress of lifting again. After that, 4 days is fine. 3 days a week is plenty of rest.

IMHO everyone is different. Factors like genetics, diet, sleep quantity and quality make a difference. When on cycle or off I like lifting 6 days a week. For PCT 3-4. I can feel when I'm not recovering. If I'm fatigued, abnormally sore or showing other signs of overtraining, then I slow down. I know a lot of people will tell you to rest, rest, rest. That doesn't work for me. I think peptides have had a postive affect for me. I'm having the best sleep I've had in memory and I seem to be recovering better.

personally more than 3 days in a row starts wearing me down, since my gym is 3 min away, Ive gone to every other day. Breaks up the M-w-F type of routine and I'm always fresh and charged. Can really see it on the scale and tape!

3 days per week is plenty for a lot of advanced trainees, so you should certainly be fine with 3 days per week. In fact, starting with 2 days per week for the first block of training wouldn't be the worst idea, though 3 is probably fine if you have a decent training history overall.

I do mwf. My schedule is so hectic and with a newborn my free time is very scarce. Works just fine imo. If I do get in over weekend it'll be for an extra day of squats/calves.

My schedule-- Mon/back, Tue/chest, Wed/shoulders, Thur/Arms and Fri/legs. I do calves and shrugs 2x's a week. I actually like to go every other day, regardless of what day of the week it is. Never seems to work out that way. I definitely prefer a day off before leg day. I actually skip shoulders quite often as I'm pretty happy with them already. I used to do a 3 day, push/pull/ leg split and it was great 4 bulking 4 me. Not trying to hi-jack, but it worked for my goals as I was 165 in June '11 and I'm 205-210 today.

3 days is good, especially for starting out. More than that your body won't have time to recover. I'd go every other day right now, you can always add a day later down the road when your body starts to get use to lifting again.
