Well some of you guys have posted some embarresing things that have happened to you at the gym.... Well after just over a year of working out, heres my very first
I was gettin ready to do some SLDL. I had 160kg (352lbs) loaded on the squat rack pins (you know on the outside).
I use this rebok step while doin them to get the depth.
So i put my straps on and lift the barbell..... pumped for a good set...... i lift one leg up on the step (pretty heavy) and i realise i didn't put any collets on the end of the barbell..... hmmm the plates might slide off........ so i'm really concentrating on keeping the barbell horizontal as i lift my other leg up and................ i catch the tip off my shoe on the edge of the step.................... there was no savin' it......... the barbell went down......... my training partner jumped about 10ft back to get out of the way.... all the time i'm strapped to this thing
.... i got dragged over the step and the momentum rolled me over the top so i was lying on my back still strapped in
Me and my tp just pissed ourselves laughin'.... i couln't get out of my straps and the whole gyms lookin'... you know like head slightly tilted, brow furrowed.... (fuck off idiots)
Anyway i got myself together and did the set. All good eh!!

how many of u guys use the collets or whatever on the barbell ends?
i usually just have them on, forces u to balance
of course im not using much weight... i can see how they could be useful once u get up there...
