simple... eat more.

what are your stats? on a bulk you should be eating a LOT... especially if youve got a high metabolism.

5'11" 130lb, yeah I'd say you have a fast metabolism.

Have you ever tried a weight gainer?

Cool

I have had the same problem and using a Protein weight gainer has worked for me.
I get mine from a local store, if you have Walmart, I'm sure they carry it in their supplement section.

if your caloric intake does not exceed your metabolic rate you will not gain weight, so eat more.

I'm assuming your calories are too low...which is typical for people that have fast metabolisms. If you have trouble consuming a lot of food.....add fat....it's a very easy way to add calories without having to be eating plates and plates of food.

Just make sure they're healthy fats....flax oil and seed, nuts, natural peanut butter, olive oil, etc.

I know this is an old thread, but I have a question, I guess I don't understand the logic of this answer, I (was) an under eater, yet I did gain w8, so how do you know how fast your metabolic rate is (or slow) because there is no way my caloric intake could have been exceeding my metabolic rate, maybe I don't understand this, care to enlighten me........thanks

You gained w8 on what you were eating because your metabolism shut down...which is why we're trying to get your calories up...you need to reset your metabolism. When you don't eat enough, your body thinks it's in a famine, and will store EVERYTHING you do give it...which is why you can get fat on 800 calories a day!

If you are gaining weight, then yes it was.
You can only gain weight if you consume more calories than you burn, if you don't eat enough or you only eat say once a day, your metabolic rate will slow down and your body will start to store more of what you eat for energy it knows you will need later.

I only gained when I moved to NY for 10 months and I was eating 3 meals a day, but complex carbs, before that and since then my w8 stayed the same not up or down, my activity level stayed the same until now, thanks alot ...........

What everybody has said so far is right on track, FOOD! CALORIES! PROTEIN! But the one thing that's missing and is so very important is PATIENTS!!! Remember the old addage, Rome wasn't built in a day. If you gain one, maybe two pounds in a month you're doing good. That's 12-24 pounds in a year. I don't know about the rest of the folks on here but I'd kill to add that much lean muscle in a year.

Rules? You mean we have RULES for that???
