Oh No Legs Day & Knee Pain

Ok, so yesterday was legs day. And by the end of the workout my knees are killing me and it lasts for the rest of the day! I have not been lifting that long... maybe 6 months. So im worried that this is just gonna get worse. Below is my workout...

Leg Press - 6 sets @ 6-8 reps
Single Leg Press - 3 sets @ 6-8 reps
Leg Extentions - 4 sets @ 6-8 reps
Lying Leg Curls - 4 sets @ 6-8 reps
SLDL - 4 sets @ 6-8 reps
Then calves...

I know i need to do squats, come April that is the plan. I was hoping everyone here would have some suggestions on how to stop this knee pain. BTW, on leg press i only go up to 550lbs, so when i get to the point where im putting up serious weight, my knees are gonna be shot!

Any help will be apprecicated!

Yeah, it's probably the leg presses. I think it was here that i read that leg presses can commonly cause leg pain because of how they work - the weight is pushing up at your legs, instead of how your knees naturally take weight... which is pushing down from the top.

I tried searching the forums quickly but couldnt find the thread. :/

don't forget that leg extensions also produce very high amounts of strain on the knee. IMO, front squats would be a good substitute

I use a lying leg press that keeps my feet fixed as my torso moves but still by knees are killed. Leg extensions don't hurt me at all
